A Bite Of Boston… In Rancho Bernardo

So, we’re driving home from the dog park and Andy and I are having a common discussion . . . Where should we stop and have lunch? He decides on Bite of Boston, which I am not going to argue with since it is a restaurant I love. Bite of Boston is located in strip mall off Pomerado Rd in the Rancho Bernardo neighborhood of San Diego. It’s sandwiched between an Einstein’s Bagel and Chin’s Chinese Restaurant.

I love this place for one reason… The Lobster Roll( or Lobsta, if you’re from Boston…lol). It’s a mound of lobster that they try to fit into a bun that has been buttered and flattopped to a beautiful golden color, it belongs at the end of a rainbow. When you bite into it, it’s a cacophony of flavors; the butter from the bun, the fresh lobster, tangy mayonnaise. Everything works in perfect harmony.

We liked it also because there were a couple of tables out front so we could bring Cooper with us. There’s not a lot of space but just enough for me to stuff my face while Cooper people watches.

Andy had a steak sandwhich that was made with peppers, onions and cheese. Another hit!

Another fun feature of this place is that they have some items that are not often found on the west coast, but that people from back east may remember from their childhood. For example they have Fluff! And an assortment of Tastykake treats. If you have a hankering for Butterscotch Krimpets, this is the place to go!
